EVA 6000 replication to EVA 6000 showes foreign disk
We have a EVA 600 primary storage unit. We are setting up a DR sight. We have another EVA 6000 in the DR sight. When we run replication to the dr site, it replicates with no problem. When we try to present a server to the replicated drive it shows the drive as foreign. It will not let us import foreign drive. It will not let us convert to basic. Is there a work arround to repair this? Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2003 makes no difference. Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2008 makes no difference. Thanks Rick

Re: EVA 6000 replication to EVA 6000 showes foreign disk
Hi.
While replication is established between a pair of EVAs, the destination vdisk is inaccessible to the remote host.
If you present a replication disk to a host, in the "presentation tab" for the replicated d vdisk you must see "Host access - None (DR destination)".
Only when you make a "failover" for the DR Group you can access in read/write mode to the vdisk.
I hope this can help you.
Regards.
