MSA2040 directly attached to Flex-10/10D Interconnects
Howdy everyone,
I've done some serious looking but to no avail. Time to ask for help.
I have an MSA2040 with dual SAN controllers (4 SFP+ ports) and want to attach it directly to two Virtual Connect Flex-10/10D modules (http://www8.hp.com/emea_africa/en/products/virtual-connects/product-detail.html?oid=5288599 ).
Can this be done or will I need a switch to go between them?
Right now I have them attached using 4x HP 10GB SFP+ DAC cables (JD095C) and when I go into my virtual connect manager, they don't recognize a link on those ports. It's very possible I just have something misconfigured on the MSA2040 for Flex-10.
Thanks in advance!

Re: MSA2040 directly attached to Flex-10/10D Interconnects
Answered my own question. YES, you can. I simply had to change the MSA2040 controllers from the factory default of fibre channel to iSCSI, which can only be done via command line and not the web based utility. You can do this via the comman line and typing "set host-port-mode iscsi" and voila! It restarts then recognizes teh DAC cables and now my interconnects show those ports as active and communicating just fine.
