P9500 front ending a P10000 array
I was asked to investigate a performance issue with a customer that has a 3PAR V10800 array virtualized behind a P9500. I am curious why anyone would do such a thing. Are there any reasons why anyone would recommend butting such a powerfull 8 node array behind a P9500?
I know both arrays well, they are significant storage devices. I understand the abilities of the P9500, but would just like some input from the community as to why anyone would propose this solution.
Possibly if the customer has multiple vendors and wishes to virt the arrays behind one interface. I see some advantages here but more disadvantages.
Thoughts anyone?
