hi, i'm wondering if it is possible to have the ABM report issues to hp sim without the need for a dedicated CV server?

Re: Possible to monitor EVA4400 ABM via hp sim?
According to the IRSA manual this is possible - just let HP SIM discover the ABM module.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

i tried that but it only discovers it as an unmanaged device and can only monitor ping.

Re: Possible to monitor EVA4400 ABM via hp sim?
There IS another way to monitor an EVA4400 with ABM in SIM. If you have at least one Command View server anywhere in your network login to it and run the discoverer.bat utility found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\SMI-S\EVAProvider\bin. Follow the prompts to add a new device by inputting the IP and login credentials for the EVA4400. Go back and list the devices and if it's listed just go back to SIM and rediscover the Cmd View server. It will be discovered with the Cmd View server under Storage Arrays.
