Slow performance EVA 4000
Hi,
I have install an EVA 4000 with allow configuration.
EVA 4000 ( AH051A )
HP STORAGEWORKS 4/8 BASE SAN SWITCH (A7984A)
HP FC2143 4GB PCI-X (AD167A)
HP RX 3600 Base System (AB596A/160)with W2003 I64
The performance are very slowly; the software I/O meter tell a 640MB/s on disk C:, while on disk g: ( EVA DISK ) is about 180MB/s
What can I verify ?

Re: Slow performance EVA 4000
You are measuring cache performance of your C: drive!
An internal drive C: will never ever deliver 640MB/s.
The 180MB/s are actually a good value
An EVA4000 fully populatred with 56 disks and accessed via at least two HBAs will 335MB/s reads max!
See the quickspecs on:

Cheers
Peter

Re: Slow performance EVA 4000
Hi Peter,
thanks a lot for the answer.
Sorry for my english
I told that a EVA performance was 180 MB/s, but really is about 18 MB/s (I haven't read good).
On dirve C: is about 50 MB/s .
What can I verify ?
This is my first installation.
Thanks

Re: Slow performance EVA 4000
Tell me more about your configuration!
What does your C: drive look like?
Controller, number of disks, RAID level?
What block sizes are you measuring?
Then your G: drive.
Number of disks in the disk group G. lies?
What block sizees are you measuring?
What RAID level is G: on?
Cheers
