StorageWorks 8/40 SAN Switch reset to default
Hi there,
I have a little problem:
I have a StorageWorks 8/40 SAN Switch, which was bought as a used part. Now we need to bring it out to another Customer, but need to reset the configuration first.
Password, IP Address was resettet by me, also i tried to delete all configs via CLI.
There still are 2 logical switches and the FCR Settings won´t go away.
Also i´ve tried
switchdisable
cfgdisable (hit "y" at prompt)
cfgclear (hit "y" at prompt)
cfgsave (hit "y" at prompt)
configdefault
switchenable
reboot
But the result is: Nothing.
The 2 logical switches stays where they are...
Is there any possibility to set those switches to "Factory default" and delete ALL the configurations?
Sorry i´m not very familiar with these SAN Switches...
Thank you very much
Lutz

Re: StorageWorks 8/40 SAN Switch reset to default
Hello Lutz,
I hope, you still can access the unit at its root user level ... in that case, please try out the following CLI commands one by one. Be sure to answer to all the security advices with 'yes' as well to the elements to delete:
configremoveall
configdefault -all
passwddefault
On Brocade units running FOS 5.x, 6.x and 7.x, the following parameters will may survive this 'switch back':
IP addresses
System name
Chassis name
Hope, it will work.
Regards
Norbert
