Hi ,
I have tu upgrade an EVA2C2D TO EVA2C4D (EVA4000)
the EVA is already in a LIVE environnement ,
How can i add the two drives enclosures and make the connections to the ports of the controller without having any problem on the already existing configuration ,
what i need most is how to connect the enclosures ...

Re: Upgrade from EVA4000 2C2D TO 2C4D
The EVA4000 uses a pure loop environment, and you have to break each back-end loop to add the 3rd and 4th shelves. Your local field service people should be able to provide a cable diagram for the new configuration.
This can be done live, but I strongly recommend doing the expansion during a maintenance period with all the servers off-line.

Solution
Hi, this is well explained on M5314 drive enclosure installation instructions.
It usually comes with the enclosure, but I attach it here anyway.
As long as one I/O loop (1A or 1B) is operational, storage system operation will not be interrupted. Make sure you disconnect only one loop at a time. Make sure a loop is operational before disconnecting the other loop.
