Hello hany,
the information is not sufficient. For diagnosis, please post the output of the following commands as a .TXT file attachment:
> show R0
> show DISK51000

Re: add disk to reduced raidsets in MA8000

I think you can try...

getting the good disk into the spareset, then changing the polict on the unit to something other then "none" like Best_Fit or Best_Performance.

Once you set the policy, the unit should see that it is in a reduced state, check for spare drives, find one and start rebuilding.

Can you post the additional information Uwe asks for? "Show DISK51000"

Or better yet, can you capture a few commands and attach them to a post...

show disks
show failed
show spare
show R0
show D1 (assuming d1 is your unit designation)

Re: add disk to reduced raidsets in MA8000

when i set policy for r0 to best fit or best performance with add disk51000 for sparesets, it does not reconstruct.

my disks in r0 4*18.2 gbyte wide ultra 3 10k
when adding disk with 36.4 to sparesets, the reconstruction done.and when add disk18.2 gbyte it does not reconstruct R0 and still reduced

Re: add disk to reduced raidsets in MA8000

You can try to initialize the replacement disk before you try to put it into the Raidset:

> initialize DISK51000

Else, I am afraid I have to repeat:
show the details about this disk and post it as a .TXT file attachment.

Re: add disk to reduced raidsets in MA8000

Do you get any additional error messages? I would connect a session to each of both controller's maintanance ports, because messages are not replicated between controllers.

Try running the command on the other controller.
