migrate OV SOM to CommandView EVA3000 licenses
Hello,
my customer has a EVA3000 with CommandView 3.x and VCS 3.014.
He would migrate from OV SOM to CV licenses (because CV licenses are less expensives).
He needs to upgrade to last firmware release and CV 4.1 to make this migration. Is it true ? And is is mandatory ?
thanks in advance
regards Davide

Re: migrate OV SOM to CommandView EVA3000 licenses
Davide:
It is my understanding that OV "SOM" is just the name of the package of software that included Command View 3.x and other related basic software for the EVA.
If you upgrade to Command View 4.x, I do not think there are any licence changes. That is, all previous licenses should work. I haven't done an upgrade as of yet so don't know for sure, but have installed licenses in both a 3.x system and a 4.x system.

Re: migrate OV SOM to CommandView EVA3000 licenses
Yes, Command View 4.x and higher require at least VCS 3.020. 3.028 is the latest (non -active/active) version for the EVA3000 and HP claims there will be no more functionality added in that code path - just bug fixes.
