upgrade EVA 4400
Hi every one,
I have to upgrade a drive enclosure in a EVA4400 and i have a doubt. The command view recognize the drive enclosure without dirve on it or you have to introduce some disc before so that the command view recognized it.
thank you in advance.

Re: upgrade EVA 4400
It is better to have atleast one disk populated on the disk enclosure for EVA4400.

Re: upgrade EVA 4400
Hi Hari, thank you for your response, i knew that the old enclosures (eva4000) had to be with almost one drive, but the 4400 I think that is not necesary, the command view recognize the enclosure without drives on it. Do you have some document where explain that you say?
thank you in advance.

Re: upgrade EVA 4400
Old EVAs has minimum of 4 drives required per enclosure. For EVA4400 this minimum is not specified. I have seen people having problem with empty disk enclosures on EVA4400 (some loop errors etc.). Hence I would prefer to install an disk enclosure with atleast one drive for EVA 4400. Below quick spec link has information on minimum disks on EVA
