Allocate Shared memory for oracle
Hi Experts
we have Hp ux box running with B.11.11 U 9000/800 .and oracle running .
Having Pahycical memory 6 GB
As per Glance
Total VM : 3.4gb Sys Mem : 1.2gb User Mem: 2.4gb Phys Mem: 6.0gb
Active VM: 2.7gb Buf Cache: 1.5gb Free Mem: 886mb
Top
Memory: 2492380K (1651148K) real, 3579028K (2604768K) virtual, 906672K free Page# 1/6
Swapinfo

My requrement was
1 .Can Assign assign 500MB more memory to ORACLE -How to add ?
2.Is there any impact, if we raise the oracle memory from 1.5GB to 2GB

What is your value for shmmax(5)?
