BIOS Version Issue/Confusion
I want to upgrade my bios version as per 3par documentation provided on SPOCK.
As per SPOCK i have LPe1105 4gb so i need to have BIOS 3.11a5 and fw version 2.82xa (in the note they provided in Box driver version lists and i looked for that on the above first figure as my driver version is 8.2.0.92-1p)
This is an SLES 10 SP4 server and HP Proliant BL685C G5
So is my BIOS Version really "A08" ?
As per "dmidecode" i see as A08 and my question what SPOCK bios list is same as what it displayed in dmidecode? or should i look at different place ? I cannot reboot the box as it is production server?
Any thoughts, really appreciate your response as it would be very helpful.
#-> systool -c scsi_host -v|egrep 'modeldesc|lpfc_drvr_version|fwrev'
fwrev = "2.72A2 (Z3F2.72A2), sli-3"
lpfc_drvr_version = "Emulex LightPulse Fibre Channel SCSI driver 8.2.0.92.1p"
modeldesc = "HP BLc Emulex LPe1105-HP FC Mezz Option Kit"
#-> dmidecode |more
# dmidecode 2.9
SMBIOS 2.4 present.

Table at 0x000EE000.
Handle 0x0000, DMI type 0, 24 bytes
BIOS Information
Vendor: HP

ROM Size: 4096 kB
Characteristics:
Handle 0x0100, DMI type 1, 27 bytes
System Information

Please suggest am i looking for the right info ? as i have weird doubt now is there anyother way i can look for HBA bios version ? Is that different from bios version which i see in the dmidecode output ?
Thanks

Re: BIOS Version Issue/Confusion
A08 is the System ROM family of the Server. I think the "BIOS 3.11a5" referenced is for the BIOS on the HBA, during post the HBA should display BIOS and firmware verson information

Re: BIOS Version Issue/Confusion
You might try looking in dmesg, boot, or messages. some drives show all the device info when they load
