Hi
I have Main Data Centre (MDC) and Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC) connected with MPLS link and the SANs at these sites synchronized with Continuous access.(We can't implement metro cluster because of the band width). HP Unix servers with secure path and windows servers are sharing the SAN. For configuring the SAN ant DRC, we split the synchronization and configured the virtual disks at DRC. But when the second time we done the same exercise, the device file got changed for all the virtual disks. What is the procedure to maintain the same device files whenever we do a full synchronization and configure at DRC.
Please share your expert opinions and procedures.

Solution
Shalom,
The second time you did it, your system still had the old device files for the SAN and decided it needed to create new ones.
Several ways to control it.
SAN configuration LUN number.
disconnect, rmsf the device files and connect again
You may lastly need to renumber your hardware instances.

Re: CA and device files
1.Delete the device file from secure path
spmgr delete
2.Delete the device files with rmsf.
3.After presenting the new Vdisk, add the LUN to the Secure path manager
spmgr add
This will give the same device files.
