CDE issue with user accounts, not root
I have a c3000 running 10.20. Having difficulties logging in to CDE from any other user except root. I get an error stating "unable to initialize or connect to Desktop messaging system. Check your $HOME/.dt/errorlog for more information"
I have recently done a complete install of 10.20 + patches + apps.
Root logs in fine to do work. Other users are unable to get to their desktop. I checked on items such as hosts, nsswitch.conf, and resolv.conf. I even copied those files from a working machine, but to no avail.
Looking for any insight to this issue. Thanks.

Re: CDE issue with user accounts, not root
Try this link,
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000073548533
The itrc doc id is KBRC00004688.
Check the permission of the files, /etc/hosts, /etc/resolv.conf, /etc/nsswitch.conf, /var/adm/inetd.sec. Make sure the world has read permissions (at least 644).
Hope this helps.
