Re: Can I change the update/modify time of a file??
More hiding can be required to make your fault "disappear".
Have you identified the shell history files? Were you using sudo, rootsh, powerbroker?
Might be best to admit your mistake and learn from it. You're human, humans make mistakes. You have ideas on how to prevent this from happening again.
If you try to hide and get discovered you could be in more serious trouble.

Re: Can I change the update/modify time of a file??
This is not my human error. The server is etrusted and somehow the etrust software changed all the modification time to tick 0 of Unix era. Dec 31 1969. It touched about 200000 files including system files. I am trying to patch it rather than re-build.

Re: Can I change the update/modify time of a file??
Dude, all you did was accidently delete a file. No worries.
Would ALL of the people who do system work and have NEVER accidently deleted a file please speak up now???
... I hear crickets chirping ...
