Create PDF files on HP-UX

Does anyone know an easy was to create PDF files on a HP-UX 11.0. Everything I found so far has 2 or 3 steps. Converting from text to Postscript to PDF. Before I even get that far I have to install and/or compile scripting programs. Is there one program that does it all?

Re: Create PDF files on HP-UX

It's not free but one of the most powerful methods is a product called Unform (www.unform.com) --- I think the executables are still 11.0. The other direct path is Perl's PDF::Create module.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Create PDF files on HP-UX

Will that be 'free format' text or more or less a form letter with specifics filled in?

It's been too long ago to cite details, but I used to generate PDF (and PS) letters by utilizing a template output and a text-friendly language to merge the fresh data with the template. Back then I used BASIC. Nowadays I'd use PERL. It is great with text manipulation, and PDF is all about text no?

In that spirit already exists:

Other perl/pdf modules exist like:

I guess Ghostscript is one of those 2-step solutions you mention. If you have not looked at it yet, then you should.
