Hi experts,
After rebooting a HPUX 11.00 server, all array disk that was on that server went missing.

Re: HVS disk missing after a reboot

They are all CLAIMED - the server is using secure path to connect to the EVA, right?

try

# spmgr display

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HVS disk missing after a reboot

Hi Torsten,
Yes the server is using secure path "spmgr display" gave us nothing:

Server: hpux-11.00 Report Created: Thu, Apr 24 15:54:16 2008
Command: spmgr display
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Storage: 5000-1FE1-5005-56E0
Load Balance: Off Auto-restore: Off
Path Verify: Off Verify Interval: 30

All devices on this Storage System are not discovered or deleted.

What should we do to bring the disk back again, please advice.
Thanks a lot!

Re: HVS disk missing after a reboot

could you post the output of vgscan -p ( the -p is preview mode so no changes will be made yet ).

I would assume all the hardware addressing changed after the last reboot.

I am assuming a vgdisplay -v complains that devices are missing from the configuration.

Hopefully you have documentation of your configuration. I am expecting that a vgimport will be needed after the vgscan but without map files you man loose your lvnames.

One step at a time.
