How do I set up a DTC printer ?

From my previous thread (Creating a Printer), it sounds like I have to configure a DTC printer on a HP server.

I was telephonically informed that the printer is connected via it's serial port to a network point on the network - does this sound right ? If so, how do I set up a DTC printer ?

If haven't done it anymore the last years.

You have to create your own device files with ddfa.

But here you find the manual

This is great, thank you very much. I have gone through the first couple of chapters in this document, and now have a good understanding of the setup of the DTC devices. This is just what I needed.
