Re: How to make a tape copy

This is entirely possible if you have a HPUX server (or any unix server) and really easy if you have two tapes drives of the same type.

e.g.

$ dd if=/dev/rmt/0m of=/dev/rmt/1m bs=1024k

If you don't have two tape drives, you could dump the info to disk and then back to another tape.

Try HP LTT's http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/ltt/index.html 'Migrate backup media...' in 'Utilities' menu

Re: How to make a tape copy

Can you provide the backup utility used to make the first tape? 'fbackup', 'cpio', 'dd', 'tar', etc.

Re: How to make a tape copy

I have used the command mkboottape to make a full backup of my system on a tape.
And i would like make a backup of this tape.

But i think that the command mkboottape is a special command of my company.
