How to see RAID Status (any monitoring!) - Ubuntu 11.10 Smart Array P410 (Urgent!)

Hi.

As there is no version of hpacucli availble for Ubuntu 11.10 I cannot find ANY way of monitoring RAID status (without rebooting).

I believe due to the 3.0.x kernel prvious versions of the hpacucli tool do not work...

I have installed hpacucli v 8.70-8.0.2-2   (from ubuntu 11.04).

------------------------------------------

=> ctrl all show detail

Error: No controllers detected.
------------------------------------------

This tool works on older version of Ubuntu on same HW.

Does anyone have any way of just checking the RAID status - thats all I want to do.

Any help would be really welcomed.

Is anyone running kernel 3.x and able to monitor RAID on similar HW.

Regards

Re: How to see RAID Status (any monitoring!) - Ubuntu 11.10 Smart Array P410 (Urgent!)

I have found a solution

http://mirror.anl.gov/pub/linux/kernel/people/ak/uname26/

- compile uname26.c

run hpacucli with

./uname26 hpacucli

- It works fine.

So the issue is hp's tools can't handle a 3.x kernel (yet)
