I can not restore an Ignite that was successfullyy generated.

Hi
I have make an ignite, created successfully according with the messages generated from the local console.

Now when I am going to restore it, this nice messages appear.
"ERROR: The version of Ignite-UX on your tape (C.7.7.93) is different than the version of Ignite-UX on the media that the client booted (C.7.6.98).
The versions must match in order to ensure correct behavior.
Continuing the installation with a tape version mismatch is likely to cause indeterminate problems.
Do you want to continue anyway? (y/[n]):"

Into the swlist really appear
IGNITE c.7.7.93 HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX)

The media that came with the Operating system is from september 2008.

Now how can I restore my OS?

Yes I do that but it seam that the restore process is going on in the right way but , it only return the

# prompt and nothing happend.

some idea?

Hi,

It looks like your are booting your system from cdrom , however you have taken ignite backup on tape.

boot your system directly from tape , that should solve your problem.

This an integrity server rx6600 ,
It does not support booting directly from the tape like the old rpxxxx system.
It is necesary use the two step restore procedure.

It will if you update to the latest firmware.

But you can also create a newer CD/DVD so you don't have that mismatch in ignite versions.

ignite server software on the same system where u have created that tape archive will help u create a bootable iso file of the same version using the make_media_install command.

This ISO image u can use boot a server and then use Ignite recovery media for the rest of the install of OS.

Hi William,

Try upgrading the ignite-ux software version on the system on which you are creating the tape to C.7.6.98 and then create another tape archive.

The problem was solved by adding a boot entry from the efi menu.

When I do the reconnect -r I identified the port and lun of the tape drive , then it was addes as a boot entry named as tape.

After that all ok
