Ignite-UX server configuration

Hello All,

I'm configuring Ingite -UX server and I've copied core OS for installing clients. I wonder it asked me only two cd's of 11.11 rest two cd were not asked, does that means i have a good copy on the server to install clients and how do i copy the five cd's of application software? I tried to find in the docs but no real luck. could anybody help please.

Thanks

Candyman.

Re: Ignite-UX server configuration

Shalom,

If you want to have all applications available via an Ignite server, you do indeed need to swcopy the applications from the APP cd's just like the core OS.

That is a heck of a lot of disk space, and I might suggestion just using swcopy on the applications you actually use.

Steven

Thanks, I tried swcopy but while copying it gives me errors for fileset dependencies and there are 5 cds to copy. all i want is to keep a copy of OS, apps, patches etc and then install clients with specific choice. please suggest

Thanks

Re: Ignite-UX server configuration

When swcopy'ing turn off the dependancy enforcement.

something like this:
swcopy -x enforce_depenancy=false ...

or turn it off in the gui options.

BTW, in order to install the packages on a system someday the dependancies for the products MUST be met.

I do not use a golden copy. I install a system, get it just right, create ignite image then use that image to clone other servers of like HW. ( this is less stressfull :)
