Must the reboot is need when first time create vdisk?

Storage: Eva8000 & Eva4000

when after I first time create a lun for a host, then use ioscan -fnCdisk,it can not shows the newest lun i just created. so the only way is to reboot this host to let the host use the vdisk.but next time everything is ok when I create lun for this host

my question is if it possible not to need reboot system but also the host can search the device when first time create vdisk for this host?

thanks

ioscan -fn and insf -ev should show it. (without reboot)

No you don't need to do it

ioscan -fnC disk
insf -e
ioscan -funC disk (now you see the device files)

No it can not work

it only works if I create vdisk for this host second time after the first time the host reboot

then there must be something wrong. Usually, you don't need to reboot.

Do you have any utility provided by HP Storage like EMC provides symcfg discover to scan EMC array. May be look for that kind of utility.
