Network Printing

Hi All,

Few queries after a long gap..

1. Is third party print servers supported on HPUX 11.23? I tried configuring but not accepting requests. I have a Lantronix EPS2-100 print server with 2 parallel and 2 serial ports.

2. How can I configure a line printer connected to the lan, in HPUX 11.23 to enable network printing.

3. How can I print on a local printer connected to a windows PC's parallel port from a HPUX terminal session opened in that PC.

Many thanks in advance. Full pts assured for good answers.

Warm Regards,
Syam

Re: Network Printing

Shalom,

1. With CIFS/9000 any TCP/IP compatible print server should be able to work with HP-UX

2. I'd get the thing a print server that is compatible with item 1. A bud of mine got one at a resale shop for $2.

3. You can probably use windows to make it a shared printer. What I don't know is how compatible a print server windows builds into the OS. I'd have to know what the windows OS is to be more specific. With the aid of third party print spooler, my HP-UX boxes at my prior job in the US had no trouble submitting print jobs to Windows Server 2000 print queues.
