P2000 G3 and HP-UX 11.31

Hi

I have an actual t solution with MSA1000 and HPUX 11.31.

I want to replace the MSA1000 with a P2000 G3 FC.

I have configure the Vdisk and volumens and have been presented to the HPUX hbas, the profile have been changed to HPUX too.

When I do an ioscan , I can see the P2000 but appear an NO_HW.

I will try to put the latest FC driver but if some other suggestion are available please let me know.

Other question if the actual MSA1000 have been seen by the HPUX, will be required the latest fc driver to recognize the new P2000 G3 FC?

Thank

W.S

Re: P2000 G3 and HP-UX 11.31

William,

Am I correct that you installed P2000 in place of MSA1000 exactly in the same ports on the switch? You made ioscan without parameters and insf -e, and then you see NO_HW in output of ioscan -fn — right?

It would be good to see output of ioscan -fn and ioscan -fnN from this system. Can you attach this?

Ivan.

For compatibility you can check out all the details at HP's SPOCK site.

Oftentimes when you connect a new storage (target) to a HP-UX 11.31 server you need to run the "scsimgr replace_wwid" command. Look into syslog after you have run a ioscan to see if any such messages appear and then run the commands as described.

I have connected the P2000 FC ports to new SAN switch port.

The P2000 have been configured to the same zone of the HPUX.

The machine have been rebooted some time.

Yeah but did you look into syslog as I asked you to? Are there any replace_wwid messages there?
