Perl Version and latest

How do I check what version of perl is in my HP-UX 11.0 system and how do I download the latest..?.

You can check your perl version by executing:
# what /usr/contrib/bin/perl

Perl can be obtained from http://www.perl.com/pub

perl is provided on HP-UX installation media in the fileset:
OS-Core.Q4: /usr/contrib/bin/perl

perl -v will give you the version. This depends on how the $PATH is set. HP-UX comes with perl version 4. If you load an updated version you might not load into the same area as where perl exists. In this case, there would be 2 perl executables - one reports the version as 4 and the other reports the version as 5_00x.x.

I believe the latest is 5_00x.x (perl 5 something)

The current version of Perl is 5.6.0.
You can download the 10.20 & 11.0 binaries from the Software Porting And Archive Centre for HP-UX:
