Red Hat AS3.0 to Red Hat AS4.0

I have servers that need to go from as3 to as4. What is the methodology of doing this? Do I have to backup what I curently have, blow away AS3, implement AS4, re-install database and client data? Any suggestions, or just pointing me in the direction of documentation would be greatly appreciated. thx.

Hi

Although you can upgrade the OS by simply using the cd's and choosing upgrade it is better that you take a full backup as you willbe moving from kernel 2.4 to kernel 2.6

good luck

Re: Red Hat AS3.0 to Red Hat AS4.0

Hi Wholey,

An upgrade option is available to allow an upgrade without requiring a full reinstall. It can be used by inserting boot disk of new version and then by typing at boot prompt:

linux upgrade
or
linux upgradeany

This will walk you through the upgrade procedure.

BTY This is good link.
