SAM errors

Hi,

I do get errors on sam on almost everything I do. I can navigate the menus, but for example on opening Networking and Communications -> Network Interface Cards, I get the following:
UNEXPECTED EXIT: process LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -n -p
3475 -s nia /usr/sam/lib//nia.ui exited with a non-zero exit status.
A SAM internal error has occurred. Additional information regarding
this errNr has been logged to the SAM log file (/var/sam/log/samlog).
Contact your HP representativesand provide them with the contents of
the log file so that anSappropriate resolution to this problem can be
found.

Samlog shows the following:
Syntax Error: /usr/sam/lib/nnc/nnc.tm at line 1: Location: tm_parse:2495
Error Code: 7159

Any clue what is going on?

Thanks,
Stefaan

Re: SAM errors

Hi,

I would not know what causes this.
The thing I would do to solve this is start with installing the latest sam patch for your version of hp-ux.

Most of the time this solves the problem.

If you have the latetst patch installed already I would log a support call at HP.

Re: SAM errors

Hi,

Run the following command and check that everything returns a "configured" reply:

swlist -l fileset -a state | grep -i sam

regards,

Darren.

Re: SAM errors

Hi,

Try this:

Run swlist to verify everything is in a configured state:

swlist -l fileset -a state |more

If you find something in a un-configured state, run this command:

swconfig \*
