Split sas raid (SmartArray RAID Controller) for OS Patching :-HPUX 11.31
Hi Team,
i am planning HPUX 11.31 OS Patching on my HP Blade serverS (BL870c i2) ...As part of rollback plan ,i would like to know how to break the OS Mirror (hardware raid as below ) so that i can boot from second disk incase any issue with OS Patching instead of igniteux ..is it recommended procedure ?.

Maybe the better plan:
Get a new disk and insert in the partner blade or get a LUN from SAN.
Clone the OS using DRD. Patch the clone, activate the clone (reboot from clone).
In case something goes wrong, just boot the original disk again.

Due to some sizing issue,D is not feasible in my case ..hence i am looking for splitting the Hardware RAID ...

Consider to shutdown, pull a disk and reboot.
