System hangs

Hi

When I do rpcinfo -p in my system is hanging. I tried restarting nfs.core nfs.server and nfs.client services...Even after restarting the system.

Problem is I am not able to install any software in the system.

Can u pls help me ?

Hi,

Could you post

/etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf

nslookup 'hostname' should return the correct IP address
nslookup 'IP address' should return the correct hostname

These problems are usually caused by networking issues.

Has there been recent changes to network configuration ipaddress and such in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf ? If so, look for mistakes and consider temporariliy reverseing the change.

If you are in a DNS environment, has there been database changes there that effect your HP-9000 server. If so, we may need to see if those are correct, or how to adjust your system to the new macro environment.

Thanks a lot. There was some spelling mistake inthe hostname.
