This device has disappeared from the Name Server

Hello,

 

On my unix server one error message is generated such as:-----------

This device has disappeared from the Name Server
database, LUNs behind this port will not be seen.
 
 
Probable Cause / Recommended Action:
 
Driver has detected that a previously discovered device (Nport_id) is no longer
in the GPN_FT response, or it's corresponding World-Wide Name has changed.
Driver won't be able to communicate with the device any more, please check that
device. If the problem persists, please report the problem to Hewlett Packard.

The server cannot acces an external device with port WNN 0x500110a0008cf060 - this could be a switch or storage device. Check your environment - you should even see a NO_HW device in ioscan.

 

 

Could be an EVA controller port? In this case check the EVA.
