cv-sdm 1.07 and java plugins in 11.23

Hi All,

I have installed CV-SDM 1.07 in my rx5670 server which is running 11.23. Whenever I run cvui,armdiscover it gives me following messages:

# cvui
Cannot exec - /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/IA64N/.java_wrapper
execvp(): No such file or directory
# armdiscover
Cannot exec - /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/IA64N/.java_wrapper
execvp(): No such file or directory
# armdsp
Cannot exec - /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/IA64N/.java_wrapper
execvp(): No such file or directory
#

Java 1.4 SDK/RTE both also installed in this server.
Why am I getting this message?

Looks like the program cannot find java_wrapper in path: /opt/sanmgr/jre/bin/IA64N/.java_wrapper

- Maybe file does not exists, or wrong permissions?

Hi Richard,

You need to check CVSDM 1.07 is being launched for ia64 servers i.e 11i V2.

That file does not exists in that location.
And My OS ver is HPUX 11.23 and CV-SDM v1.07.

What else?

Hi Richard,

I am also trying to find out if CommandView runs on the Itaniums, the answer, I am beginning to believe is a resounding NO.

From the datasheet for 1.07

"HP-UX 11.11 and 11.23 All HP PA-RISC computers
Note: HP-UX 11.23 is only supported when Command View SDM natively installed on HP-UX host No OpenView SAM support is available for HP-UX 11.23 until 1H 2004"

Seems it is still only on the RISC chips - no mention of 11.22, and 11.23 runs on IA64 and PA-RISC....

Thus the issues...
