Hi
I am getting EMS alert and ignite backup completion mail in outlook.
How it is working ?
Where the receiptent mail id is added. In any part of the script.
Is it related to wbem services.

Re: ems alert in outlook.
EMS notifications are usually set up via the /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig program.
Ignite UX, make_tape_recovery or make_net_recovery notifications are likely done via a script that calls the Ignite command. That type of notification is NOT built into Ignite. If you can find the cron job or script that is use to create the backup then you will likely find out how e-mails are being sent.

Re: ems alert in outlook.
Hi
I have pasted the logs by running /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig
1) Send events generated by all monitors
with severity >= MAJOR WARNING to SYSLOG
2) Send events generated by all monitors
with severity >= INFORMATION to TEXTLOG /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log
3) Send events generated by all monitors
with severity >= MAJOR WARNING to EMAIL root
4) Send events generated by all monitors
with severity >= MAJOR WARNING to EMAIL [my team mail id ]
with comment:
Criteria Thresholds:
1) INFORMATION 2) MINOR WARNING 3) MAJOR WARNING
4) SERIOUS 5) CRITICAL
Enter selection {or (Q)uit,(H)elp} [3]
suppose if the severity is deteced as 1,will I receive mail ?

Re: ems alert in outlook.
If the message severity is INFORMATION or MINOR WARNING, then NO you will not receive an e-mail. The message will go to the log file /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log (along with MAJOR WARNING, SERIOUS and CRITICAL messages).
Only if the severity is MAJOR WARNING or higher will root and [my team mail id ] receive an e-mail.

Re: ems alert in outlook.
I missed your reply...
The severity levels are designated by the EMS software itself. I know of no easy way to control those.
