iCAP Processors problem
Hi,
We have two rx8640 server with: 2 cell, 4 cpu (8 cores) in each cell (16 core total), 32GB RAM in each cell.
This rx8640 came with 8 active cores and 8 deactive cores for use with GiCAP with the other complex (8 core sharing GiCAP).
When we applied the AB487A (HP Mid iCAP Montecito 1.6GHz 24MB 1c RTU) the complex deacticvated 5 cores with the message: "Deactivated CPUs during TiCAP Enforcement".
After this, I received this output:
[mlsrvhp08-/var/adm] icapstatus
Software version: B.11.31.08.03
System ID: mlsrvhp08
Serial number: USE47463AB
Product number: AB297A
Unique ID: fdfb0c73-ab81-11dc-af6c-0a6a8ba3d9fa
System contact e-mail: Not set
From e-mail: Set to the default ('adm')
Asset reporting: off
Temporary capacity warning period: 15 days
Exception status: More cells active than expected
More memory active than expected
More cores active than expected
Negative temporary capacity balance

Where this complex get "Number of cores without usage rights: 42" and 96GB RAM.
I need to reset this information and returning use of my 8 licensed cores.
Please, if anyone could help I appreciate.

Re: iCAP Processors problem
This is not something you are going to get fixed with the assistance of ITRC forum members. You need to get a call logged with the response centre *immediately* - they'll need to compare you're configuration against what was sold and what's in the utility pricing portal and then help you fix this (potentially with emergency codewords). That's just not something that fellow forum members can helop with.
