ioscan output shows 4 character address

os  name hp-ux 11.23

 

i want to know from the below output why c1t0d0 show 4 address that is  (c1t0d0s0,c1t0d0s1,c1t0d0s2,c1t0d0s3)

This is pretty normal for an itanium boot disk.

There are 3 partitions on the disk (s1...3); 1 for EFI, 2 for HPUX, 3 for service tools.

 

 

And by the way, this is an  IR Volume - Integrated RAID, hardware RAID provided by the internal LSI SAS controller.

4 special device files, 1 for the disk itself, 1 for each partition
