lvextend prob.

Hi all,

I m trying to mirror the root disk in one of my HPUX machine.I'm getting the below error.

# lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol1 /dev/dsk/c3t5d0
Usage: lvextend
[-A Autobackup]
{-l LogicalExtentsNumber |
-L LogicalVolumeSize}
LogicalVolumePath [ PhysicalVolumePath... | PhysicalVolumeGroupName... ]
"m": Illegal option.

Check whether Mirror UX installed

the message

"m": Illegal option.

indicates that the mirror/ux product is not installed.

Hi,

Do you have the MirrorDisk/UX installed ?
/usr/sbin/swlist -R | grep -i mirror
You need MirrorDisk/UX in order to be able to mirror your lvols.

Hi,

Are you getting the same output of swlist command.

#/usr/sbin/swlist | grep -i mirror
B2491BA B.11.23 MirrorDisk/UX (Server)

If not then you don't have the MirrorDisk software.
