Re: quad LAN(A5506B) card problem

Shalom,

You may have installed it in a slot that does not work for the card. Though the connectors on an L1000 all look to be PCI compliant, they all will not work.

Other ideas:

HWE patch bundle.

What is the latest quarterly patch set installed on the system.

Booting the system.

Could the card be bad?

Re: quad LAN(A5506B) card problem

Where did you install the btlan driver for this I/O card from? The L1000 (rp5400) does support the I/O card mentioned.

However, the A5506B card and its btlan driver are only supported in HP-UX release 11i or later. Moreover, the btlan driver is bundled alongwith the core OE, that's why you're seeing the kernel compile error.

Check with HP regarding compatibility of the card and the HP-UX release.

Re: quad LAN(A5506B) card problem

According to the install instructions you should install the software first, the card after this.

http://docs.hp.com/en/5971-4260/index.html

Of course, the card is supported for almost all HP-UX releases, beginning from 10.20 and also for your server, see

http://docs.hp.com/en/supportmatrixEthernetJune05.pdf/supportmatrixEthernetver1June05.pdf

http://www.hp.com/products1/serverconnectivity/adapters/ethernet/infolibrary/fast_ethernet_pb.pdf (page 3)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

What gives

Did you get some space warnings regarding /stand?

Hope this helps!
