Re: root account locked

U cant add the rlogin if u cant access that system,

if u reboot the system in single user mode it does not ask for passwd. (hope this is not in trusted mode ?)

then u can simple change the passwd using

#passwd

All the best

Re: root account locked

Hi Ahmed ,

1. Logon to GSP, using the Console GSP Ip.
2. If you have any user equivallent of root priv. try that , else

3. You need to reboot the server , using RS.
4. Interupt normal boot sequence,
5. at PDC , boot pri [ To boot from primary boot path. ]
6. Interact with ISL Y.
7. at ISL > hpux -is
8. You will get # prompt .
9. # passwd root
10. Reboot again.

Cheers,
Raj.

Re: root account locked

Hi

To go to single user mode, just reboot the server.
Then interupt the booting proccess.

interact with IPL (y/n) choose Y

isl> hpux -is

Will boot the system into single user mode

Then type: mount all

Change the root password!
Then #init 3 to go to level 3
