/stand/system misses stape

my system files misses stape and tape2. can i just edit it and add it? or will it involve a reboot?

Neither editing /stand/system nor rebooting is sufficient (though both are necessary). You must add the driver and build aan new kernel and then reboot. Since you are having to ask, perhaps SAM might be your least evil approach since it will do all the steps for you.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

You need to configure the tape driver into kernel

Eevn you can edit "system" files
but you have to rebuild kernel with mk_kernel to reflect the tape driver forever

There are two ways ;
Use SAM (sam > kernel > driver , select stape in)

eait and kernel rebulid in manual
