strange veritas/disk issue
Server crash! hp 11i superdome partition.
ioscan -fnC - i can see the disks i expect
insf -e - reintsalls all the device files
vxdisk list - can't see the disk in question
vxdctl enable
vxdisk list - can't see the disk
vxdiskadd c2t5d9
get the error
The following device could not be defined. The error encountered with
the device will be displayed after the next prompt.
Output format: [Device_Name]

insf -C disk
That command sets up disk devices.
Appears a disk went down on you, or something is wrong in /etc/lvmtab
That does not in any way explain the crash.
vi /etc/rc.config.d/savecrash
If the first variable is set to 1 then you have a crash dump that you may wish to look at and run q4 analsys on.

we have a crash dump which is being analyzed, I am simply concerned about why veritas cannot initialize the disk, and the OS can see it?
