ulimit in hpux

Hello,
can you tell where the ulimit values are getting saved in hpunix 11.22?
Your reply will mostly be appreciated
Thanks

Re: ulimit in hpux

Ulimit controls process limits. It stands to reason then that these limits would be stored in the kernel's process control table.

That's just a guess but it makes sense to me.

Re: ulimit in hpux

Sorry, I must have misunderstood your question. I think maybe what you are really asking is where are ulimit values set. Then I would agree with /etc/profile.

Re: ulimit in hpux

As mentioned by Pete and you, ulimit values come from the kernel and can be reduced by settings in /etc/profile and ~/.profile or the command line.
These have kernel parms:
data(kbytes) 2015464
stack(kbytes) 262144
nofiles(descriptors) 2048

You do know that 11.22 is obsolete and no longer supported?
