Re: vpar on itanimun will not let root log in

You probably need to reboot that vpar, bring it up in single-user mode and then clean out whatever file system is full.

Hello

suppose vpar1 is problematic and you have another vapr called, vpar2 on the same npar.

modify the vparconfig of the problematic vpar's boot option.

on Vpar2: execute vparmodify -p vpar1 -o -is

then

on vpar2: execute vparreset -p vpar2

Boot into single user mode and clear the space.

Cheers!!

As many persons said above,
Still, you may trying FTP'ing. If you are able to login through FTP, you can then traverse and remove the files. If FTP isnt allowing you to login as well, hope you need to boot into single user mode and clear the files. If you have auditing enabled, check for the audit logs first.

Re: vpar on itanimun will not let root log in

Hi pedliz11

How to boot in single user mode have already been replied by:

1)Naveej
- from a second virtual partition server where you first change the boot parameters (-is which means single user) with vparmodify, then use vparreset to send a reset signal (TOC) to the server.

See man pages for vparmodify and vparreset

2) whiteknight
- from the console vpar-monitor, with command vparload

p.s.
you might be familiare to the Ctrl+B on the console, which bring you back to the MP> prompt. To switch between the different vpar consoles and the vpar-monitor (MON>) you use Ctrl+A
