How to create process monitoring with OMU9

Hi all,

I have just migrated from OMU 8.35 to OMU9.1 and now realize, some of the policies do not work correctly now, even though I expected that!
For example:
to monitor swagentd, I have a script from VPO7 which does a "ps -ef| grep swagentd|wc -l" and the result is 1 for running, 0 for not running!
This result is transferred via opcmon to the template!
The template is configured like that: show always (continuous) the not running status until the process is started again, then "reset" the message and acknowledge it automatically!

The HP support told me there are new built-in functions in OMU9 - any idea where I can find it?

The automatically reset does not work anymore?
Any info, link, what so ever is appreaciated!

Thank you.
cheers

Re: How to create process monitoring with OMU9

Hi,

There is a new policy type introduced in OMU-9.x
When you create a new policy, select "Service_Process_Monitoring -> select "Monitoring" tab -> select type "processes" -> set the polling cycle -> select "add process" -> and here you have a window where you set the process name, the expected number of processes, etc.

Re: How to create process monitoring with OMU9

Thank you, just found that new type of policy, created a test monitoring and deployed it - and got a horrible error message - guess that's the next case for HP support:-((

Got the solution, the errors will be investigated by HP support.
Thank you
