Operations Agent 11- Not receiving alarm for the Agent gets stopped

I have installed the Base Operations Agent 11.00 and patch 11.02 in the Solaris 10 Sparc node.  Currently the Agent version in the managed node 11.02. I am able to receive the test alarms, disk space util alram like wise log file monitoring alarm in the message browser.

 

But when I stop the agent in the managed node using the command opcagt -stop /ovc -kill. I am not getting the message like the the node has lost the connectivity, which means to say Hearbeat alarm is not getting in the message browser. Please advice.

 

OVO management servers (HP -UX) - 8.60

Hello.

 

How did you install the agent on this node?  Is HBP enabled for it?  Verify with:

 

opchbp nodename

Yep, I have verified the heartbeat in the management server for the managed node .

 

Output:

 

Node xyzxyz .......HBP is on. Type: 0x3. Interval: 0h10m0s.

 

But no alarm for the agent stop? Any other things to verify?

Do you have internal message interception configured onthe agent side ?

 

Use ovconfget eaagt  | grep -i int_msg to check. 

 

Output should look like this:

 

# ovconfget eaagt | grep -i int_msg
OPC_INT_MSG_FLT=TRUE

 

Do you have policies on the management server to catch/display this alert ?

 

Does your management server 'think' that this agent is down ?

Do you have a policy deployed (opcmsg) on the management server to intercept the internal messages from OM ?
