Several OVO components aborted (Windows Server 2003)

Have an agent on a Windows 2003 server that has several components aborted:

coda OV Performance Core COREXT (6236) Running
opcacta OVO Action Agent AGENT,EA Aborted
opcle OVO Logfile Encapsulator AGENT,EA Aborted
opcmona OVO Monitor Agent AGENT,EA Aborted
opcmsga OVO Message Agent AGENT,EA Aborted
opcmsgi OVO Message Interceptor AGENT,EA Aborted
opcwbemi OVO WMI Interceptor AGENT,EA Aborted
ovbbccb OV Communication Broker CORE (7740) Running
ovcd OV Control CORE (7124) Running
ovconfd OV Config and Deploy COREXT (2632) Running

Info:

Agent version 11.02.011

System.txt just gives the usual of the "exited after a short time"

%OvDataDir%\tmp\OpC is empty, there is nothing there

Steps taken with no impact on issue:

opcagt -cleanstart

tried disabling all log templates and policies

ovconfchg -ns eaagt -set OPC_INCLUDE_VIRTUAL_IP_ADDRS_FOR_LOCAL_NODE_MAPPING TRUE (this was a resolution given to me by HP support that sometimes actually works)

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Several OVO components aborted (Windows Server 2003)

Hello Woody,

Not many clues given. Have you tried clearing the queue files?

Here are the steps on a Windows node :

#opcagt -stop

#opcagt -kill

Then go to

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\HP\HP BTO Software\tmp\OpC

and delete the files.

#opcagt -start

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Re: Several OVO components aborted (Windows Server 2003)

Hello

Was the agent working fine before you started seeing this issue? What changes in the Windows 2003 server when this happened? (like Windows update or security software update)?

The the following commands on the node as an admin user

opcagt -kill

ovc -kill

ovpacmd stop

ovc -start -verbose

opcagt -start

Does the agent start properly? Do the verbose logging when you start ovc again show you any errors? Hope these will help you narrow it down.

Regards

Ram
