Change from native mode to compressed

Hi, I have a HP ultrium 460 tape drive. Using LTO2 tapes. How do I change it to operate in compressed mode?

Re: Change from native mode to compressed

Hi,

LTT can enable hardware compression on the drive. Page 33 in the below pdf file provides the step

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00791550/c00791550.pdf

However, if you are having problems with compression then the below link would be the best place to start http://h41206.www4.hp.com/webapps/IV3/node.iv?locale=en_us&prodSeriesId=316040&node=prodITRC%2FUK_HS_IPG_PSG_Ktree_Homepage_EN_01_E%2FN1%7C3%7C5%7C15%7C48&prodTypeId=12169&serverId=1#src

Re: Change from native mode to compressed

Whats the current firmware, and whats the new one?

did you let L&TT to download the firmware for your drive, or did you get the firmware file somewhere?

any message when the update fails?

Re: Change from native mode to compressed

Current firmware version is F63D
New version is F63D/OEM9
Does this mean it is already the latest version?

Re: Change from native mode to compressed

The drive has the latest firmware. However, reflashing of the firmware is possible.

Could you let me know the reason for failure (LTT's error message)? Based on the message or ResultLog.ltt, we could tell you why the firmware update failed.
