T3000 Tape Drive Blinking Led

Does anyone out there know what 4 consecutive blinks then a pause then 4 consecutive blinks of the tape drives front LED is trying to tell me??

From what I've read, it means that you have to hard reboot your computer. I'm in the same boat. Have you found any other fixes?

Hey... thanks for the post. I have not been able to find this error code any where myself. Hard booting does clear the problem... that's the only way to get it to stop. Still no clue what it means.

I got this from a posting in a newsgroup from 9/20/1998:

Out of curiousity, what OS are you using?

It's a Dos 6.22 based machine. Actually the PC is acting like controller. Today I ran a different boot up and modified the Autoexec.bat and Config.sys files to free more base(640K) memory and I have not seen the blinking since.
Still curious as to what the blinks are trying to communicate to me though...

Okay, I'm getting an error saying that there is a problem with the Firmware accompanied by the 4 blinks. I saw an update for T4000 firmware.
