Two TL891DLX minilibraries. One fast, one slow

We have two TL891DLX minilibraries. One is fast (>160 Mb/min), the other is very slow(<35 Mb/min). Both units are identical as far as I can see. Both are connected via SCSI to a Proliant DL380 with 2gb RAM. Using Backup Exec 9.

When I swap SCSI connections the problem follows the DLT.

Please help! Thank you.

Dave:

You should probably run the diagnostics for Tape Libraries. Your robot and/or tape drives may beed to be aligned, or cleaned, or.. etc.

Are the drives the same as well? both DLTxx?

Can you swap SCSI cables? and test?

Hi there.
Are your tapelibs daisychained to any other device ?
If yes consider to connect each tapelib to a
separate interface with nothing daisychained
to it.

I had this same problem. It turned out that the slow drive was defective. As soon as I replaced it, it wrote at the same speed as the others.

What SCSI card (part number) are you using in your DL380? I am looking to ungrade my backup server and plan on attaching a 891 to it but can not seem to find a card that will work.
