Ultrium 230 - all LEDs on, but dead?
my Ultrium 230i seems to be dead, all lights on the front panel are on. Whenever I restart the server / drive, only the leds light on, but there is no movement in the drive itself. There was a tape in the drive which I couldn't eject, so I removed it manually (without breaking anything afaik). I tried the reset button but the drive won't initialize. The drive isn't found by the scsi-controller or the tape tools. So I guess my drive is totally broken, or is there a chance of getting it to work somehow?
Thanks in advance for any idea.

Re: Ultrium 230 - all LEDs on, but dead?
Since the drive is not seen by LTT or the controller I would double check connections, and bent pins.

Re: Ultrium 230 - all LEDs on, but dead?
I have the same Problem with 2! Ultrium Drives, both "died" at the same time?
It was seen by the SCSI-Controller/LTT, then i inserted a Tape, all LEDs went on.
Now the SCSI-Controller connot find the drive anymore
strange

Re: Ultrium 230 - all LEDs on, but dead?
I had the same problem with a drive that I came a across, I found that MWills idea of cracking the unit open and checking that all the ribbons and cabled were seated properly got my drive backup and running. :-D
