colorado qic-3020 (uses tr-3 tape)

My tape drive is recognized only intermittently (very infrequently). Panic is that I have a good deal of data stored on these tapes that I would like to retrieve. Can I get the drive repaired or replaced?

and it looks like they have one for sell.
